Sew what?! I make my own clothes

Is it Karl Lagerfeld? Is it Donatella Versace? No, it's just me getting my sew on. Don't worry if I hadn't already known I would have been confused too J

Years ago, when I finished high school dad bought me a sewing machine as a graduation present. Instead of assuming that the present was some weird Asian "coming of age - so time to work at a sweatshop" gift, I'm choosing to believe dad saw some creative genius in me and thought to encourage that.

This summer I have been sewing up a storm, and as much as I would like to say my talents rival that of Ralph Lauren (or even kmart), I am more likely to end up in the pages of Sewing for Dummies.

Nonetheless I'm loving my new hobby and ain't nothing gonna break my stride. When I grow up I now want to be a fashion designer... Watch this space.

Rottnest - An Island full of Beaches, Babes and Bogans

Rottnest Island. For tourists it’s an environmentally friendly island 18km from Fremantle, WA, where you can explore the local inhabitant’s (quokkas, whales etc), learn the islands’ history and visit its 63 beaches on their bicycle. But for us locals it’s Rotto - a place to get tanned, get boozed and get friendly with the other tanned/boozed people.

As a part of my amazing Christmas present from Loan, she bought us a ticket to Rottnest just in time for the 44°c day. As soon as we hit the shores of the island we headed straight for the beach, but not before we were met with a lovely young man who screamed “Oi! Come sit with us darling” very charming!

As we shed our clothes and lay down our towels I forget how breathtaking this island is. With crystal blue water and fine white sand, it’s no wonder why over 500,000 people flock to this island each year.

Highlights:
- Snorkeling in the clear waters
- Hot sun to get our tan on
- Cute guys half naked

Lowlights:
- Stingray swimming near us
- Dehydration

Fusion of Asian and Western Culture – Singapore

Background - Marina Bay Sands
Loan wears Ivy Wears
Dress -Supre Top: TopShop
Clutch- From Bali Markets Shorts: Forever 21

One my fave holidays I had with Ivy was in Singapore. We went at the end of 2012 and spent New Year’s over there. One of the best New Year’s ever for me.

If you love Shopping and food this place is definitely for you! People always talk about how clean this place is and yes it is. You do really see Asian and western culture in the food and architecture. Ok so we did spend a lot of shopping along Orchard road, it has your high end designer stores as well as our all-time favourite stores such as top shop, forever 21, Zara and H&M.

The food was amazing; you have to try the famous chili crab with bread buns. We also went to Andre which is much fancier but is in the world’s top 50 restaurants. We had ten course meals and the food was absolutely divine.

Beautiful Dinner at Andre
New Years
Ivy and I had so much fun at the Singapore’s Siloso New Year’s beach party. We ordered our tickets a couple weeks before. This beach party has people from all different parts of the world going to it. We just danced all night to great music and had the best time.
Beach Party = No high heels = Danced all night long and no sore feets.

I Love Singapore !!

Fifty Shades of Hunter-Rose

Sunglasses are the ultimate summer accessory and can be the perfect finish to a perfect outfit. Make the right choice and be the Cara Delevingne of the day or go straight to wrong town as though you stepped straight out of the matrix. Here are a few of my favourite current and coming trends so you can turn heads for all the right reasons.

Trends:
- Tinted glasses with let you view the world as though you are wearing an Instagram filter. So whether you want to see through rose coloured glasses or see sepia shades like brannan, this trend will make you and your surroundings look amazing. After all, Instagram makes everything beautiful

- The industrial look is one of the bolder choices for 2014, and a personal favourite of mine. This look has sharp lines, thick metal and visible screws. Not for the faint hearted, but this look will definitely set you apart from the more girlie trends.

- By the looks of it the cat eye glasses are here for another season. Think Audrey Hepburn in breakfast at Tiffany's or Kourtney Kardashian in Bora Bora. These shades will exude class and sophistication.

- Mirrored glasses are the perfect party accessory. Not only will the reflective shades make you look fashion forward but it doubles as a mirror to keep your make up in check. I do warn you, be prepare for your vain friends to constantly check themselves out.

Check out some of our favourite sunglasses below.

Getting Dirty with Frank

Me getting naked and dirty with Frank

I’m pretty obsessed with scrubs. I have used many different types of scrubs, the ones from the shops to homemade scrubs. It is important to exfoliate our skin to get rid of dead skin cells. Since my skin is quiet sensitive I prefer, actually I mean I have to use products with more natural ingredients. My allergic reaction on my skin is not a pretty look.  Frank’s products are made from natural ingredients. So I was pretty excited to try Frank coffee scrub. I first hear of Frank bod scrubs on Instagram and after reading some reviews on the product I decided to try some.

Frank – Coconut and Grape seed

Frank’s scrubs got a whole lot better when they put out the coconut and grape seed coffee scrub which is limited edition. OMG I loved the smell, it was a mixture of coffee and sweet coconut. The texture is kind of like moist coffee grains. I followed the simple steps of damping my skin in the shower, circulating the scrub on body and boy is the stuff messy but fun to use. I left the scrub on my skin for 5-10 minutes as it says on the pack.
Frank Scrub- Pack of Goodness

Frank- Coconut & Grapeseed

Verdict- LOVED IT !! My skin felt soft and smooth straight away. Who doesn’t like soft baby skin? It didn’t leave any oily residue, which some scrubs I have used do. This stuff is pretty amazing and worth a try. I will be definitely using more.
